Searching for information on Altha HARRIS b. 06/08/1858 Delaware Co. Married John L. MILLER 02/10/1881 d.05/18/1901 Paulding Co. OH. Who were her parents? Siblings? A sister passed away in March 1887 in Delaware Co. but I don't have her name. At the time of her death, Altha left 5 children. In 1903, at the time of John MILLER's death three of the younger children were taken by W. D. BERRY from Paulding Co. to Delaware Co. to be placed for adoption. My grandmother Lelah MILLER was one of these children. She was placed in the Allen Co. (Indiana) Orpahns' Home. Another child, Nina, married Chester GREIBLE and resided in Delaware for many years.

John and Mary SPRINGER...parents of Isaac born 1860/1 One answer is John SPRINGER ended up in Dayton, Tippecanoe,In. and married Mary HESSIAN there in 1860...returned home to Matamoras (New Matamoras ??) before son Isaac was born 1861 Feb. 1865 he and a cousin Jonas SPRINGER volunteered for Union Army...John (Jno.) died of Typhoid Nov.1865 near Macon...body later moved to Andersonville cemetary... Mary supposedly remarried (WILSON??) Isaac ended up in Pasadena Calif. about 1885 and wouldn't talk about his early life... Another John is in Monior township 1850 census with an 11 year old son John...1840 census for Monior has Jno SPRINGER household with male son under 5 years... I need any/all records of these people...my guess is that Mary HESSIAN SPRINGER returned to Dayton, Indiana after John's death and remarried...leaving Isaac to deal with a step family he didn't like...
