YENSER, George
- a farmer and stock raiser, is a native of
Trumbull county, born February 1, 1844. His parents are Gideon and
Lydia (Seckler) Yenser. He was married January 30, 1869, to Margaret
Jane Welles, who was born in this county, June 29, 1850. Her children
are: Mary Lydia, born December 8, 1869, died October 21, 1879; John
William, April 1, 1871; Charles Abram, April 3, 1873; Lettitia Amanda,
February 27, 1877; Edna Lucina, October 11, 1878; Samuel Garfield, June
10, 1880. Mrs. Yenser’s parents are Benjamin and Mary Sherer
Wells, the former born in 1810, died in 1860; the latter born in 1818;
settled in this county in 1848. Mr. Yenser was Supervisor four years;
is at this time School Director. He enlisted in September 1861, in the
19th Ohio, serving fourteen months; was in the Pittsburgh Landing
fight, and went from there to Corinth, thence to Iuka, Alabama; there
disabled by sickness, and discharged at Nashville; re-enlisted in
October, 1863, in the 6th Ohio; was with Phil. Sheridan in all his
battles; helped to capture Lee, and was mustered out at the close of
the war as Corporal. Address, Junction, Paulding county, Ohio.
YOUNG, Jacob L. - was born in Cayuga county, New York, October 1, 1800, and was married to Sally Pierce in Delaware county, January 22, 1822. She was born in Massachusetts, August 2, 1804. They have the following children: Oliver, born July 30, 1823; Rodney, November 17, 1824; Jonathan, May 4, 1826, died 1828; Rebecca, August 26, 1830; Eliza, March 24, 1834; Sanford, January 3, 1842; Jones, April 23, 1844; Sarah C., January 20, 1849, deceased. Mr. Young’s son, Rodney, was in the war of 1861 for about eighteen months. His father, Christopher John Young, was in the war of 1776. Mr. Y9oung has a fine farm of one hundred and seventy-four acres in this county. Mr. Young’s parents are Christopher John Young and Sally (Linderman) Young. They both died in Delaware county, Ohio. His wife’s father, Silas Pierce, died in Delaware county, Ohio. Mr. Young settled in Delaware county, Ohio, in 1817, and in this county in September, 1863. Address, Oakwood, Paulding county, Ohio.
YOUNG, Oliver - has a fine farm in this township, on which he resides and is chiefly engaged in raising grain. Mr. Young was born in Delaware county, Ohio, July 30, 1823, and was married to Caroline Hite, in the same county, June 16, 1850. She was born in Delaware county, August 4, 1832. They have the following children: Elizabeth, born December 31, 1851, died June 24, 1879; Amy I., August 6, 1843; Isaac N., July 9, 1857; Jacob A., January 30, 1860; Enos E., and Evi A., twins, May 9, 1863; Evi died October 11,1865; Elias E., July 25, 1867; James H., January 12, 1870; Daily D., March 17, 1874, died April 26, 1874; Albert N., February 13, 1877. Mr. Young settled in this county, September 1, 1863. His great grandfather was a soldier in the war of the Revolution. His parents were Jacob L. and Sally (Pierce) Young; the latter is deceased. His wife’s parents were Abraham and Elizabeth (Rushe) Hite, both deceased. Mr. Young is a farmer, and his postoffice address is Oakwood, Paulding county, Ohio.
